Why did you choose A-State?
People in Arkansas are the best. The students here are very polite, down to the earth, and highly motivated. In addition, the faculty and staff members at A-State care about student success.
What makes a good professor?
The ability to motivate students’ learning.
Who was your favorite teacher (and why)?
My favorite teacher was my physics teacher in high school. She was always very positive, confident, supportive and patient with students and ready to answer questions. She believed that learning was a process of continuous improvement.
What’s the value of a university education?
It’s the opportunity to broaden vision and development of thinking patterns.

If you could teach another field, which one and why?
I would teach physics. It is both an art and a science. There are a lot of similarities between physics and business. Both require great observation skills, logical thinking and analytical skills. These are skills in high demand in our globalized and intertwined world. Both fields produce objects of great beauty and elegance.
What is the one thing you wish you could teach everyone about your field?
The concepts, theories, tools, and ideas that students learn in business can not only be applied to the world of business but in every field and industry.
What are you working on right now?
Writing a book based on my research in modeling and solving complex decision-making problems on quality competition in supply chain networks.
