Transitioning to college can be just as important to parents as it is to students. Parents and guardians are encouraged to attend New Student Orientation virtual sessions with their student although this is not a requirement.
Contact the Leadership Center at 870-972-2055 for questions about the New Student Orientation program.
First Year Parent Association
Parents/guardians have the opportunity to sign up for the First-Year Parent Association. Membership in the association includes access to the weekly electronic communications and monthly newsletters featuring timely articles, important dates, photo gallery of first year students and other information relevant to the parents of first-year A-State students. This is a great opportunity for you to stay involved, and at the same time, let your son or daughter have the opportunity to take charge of his or her education.
If you have any questions about the First Year Parent Association, contact Paige Walker at awalker@AState.edu or (870) 972-3574.
Each date of New Student Orientation will offer a variety of virtual sessions for students and parents. While it is most important to attend your assigned academic college's session, the other sessions will offer insight into resources and opportunities at A-State. Links to join these sessions can be found under 'Academic College Sessions' and 'Virtual Interest Sessions' on the menu of www.AState.edu/NSO.
Additional department interest sessions will be offered throughout May, June, and July. A complete list of session descriptions may be found by click 'Virtual Interest Sessions' on the menu of www.AState.edu/NSO.
