Solar Eclipse Viewing Party

08/21/2017, 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM

Experience the 2017 Total Solar Eclipse at a Viewing Party on Monday, August 21 at 12:30! It is the most significant astronomical event in decades! A science discussion and hands-on demonstration will be presented in ABI 107 for those wanting to learn more about the eclipse event. This will be followed by viewing the eclipse outside the main entrance of the Arkansas Biosciences building, on the south side, facing the railroad tracks. Simultaneously, the Arkansas Biosciences Institute and the College of Sciences and Mathematics will live-stream NASA's EDGE Mega cast in ABI 107, for those wanting to see totality. Some solar viewing glasses will be available, however, you are encouraged to bring your own. If you have any questions, please contact Shea Harris, ABI Outreach Coordinator, at 870-680-4340 or rsharris@astate.edu.
